The Colour Purple

Things that are real don’t always seem real.
The Colour Purple
Funny old colour

With its hints and hues

That beggar belief
I think it must be

There’s not an abundance

In nature, I mean

That we notice it
It seems man made

Unnecessary, too vibrant

Until Spring, that is

When a crocus pops their head

Above the thawed ground, blinking

At the new season’s new rays

Looks round, sees green, and opens

Isn’t it lovely?
Spring shorts Sloth out.
