Spring clean

New year and all that.

Spring clean

I can never help but think

Following a heavy night’s rain

And a morning of sun

That the world is cleaning up

The blue a little paler than normal

Cloud-scrubbed clean

Waiting for the sky elves to come

And finish colouring it in

Shiny streets

Rolled out reflections

Slowly dry, evaporating

Headlights and blue corners

The breeze has a new edge

A fresh start

A poignantly placed cloud

A glint and the steady drop

Of rain not quite yet to hit the ground

2017 Sloth out.
